Exterior of The Grey restaurant

The Grey

Savannah, GA

The story of this award winning Savannah restaurant starts with the 1938 art deco Greyhound Bus Terminal that it occupies. After an impressive restoration, The Grey continues the building’s long tradition of transporting people to a destination, but now it is one of an elevated culinary experience.

With such an storied background, LMNOP had plenty of inspiration to draw from. Pulling details from the original architecture of the historic building, as well as Greyhound's long history, we brought together branding elements that are an ideal blend of old and new. We had a custom engraving of a greyhound created and paired it with vintage-inspired typography and custom patterns influenced by interior elements of the building. The exterior signage was recreated to be as close to the original as possible; while simultaneously reflecting some of the new typography from the branding. Evoking an era in which bus travel entailed a degree of sophistication and romance, it was important that all touch points helped to transport guests back in time.
